Don't you forget about me.

Hi, my name is Leah, age eighteen. Thirty-First day, Twelth month, year 1993. I'm pretty chill. Music is my therapy. Photography is my passion. I love it. My Family, Faith, Friends makes me enjoy my life. One of my biggest dreams is to see the beach at least once more before I die.
I am always myself. So don't be shy, let talk. (:

“Not that I condone fascism, or any -ism for that matter. -Ism’s in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, “I don’t believe in Beatles, I just believe in me.” Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. I’d still have to bum rides off people.”

Don’t get me wrong, the 90s were the bomb. But, I wasn’t even born in the 80s and I will still recognize how epic that decade was. A decade where John Hughes, Madonna, Michael Jackson and big hair defined an even bigger generation. Back when MTV played music. Back when The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Saved By the Bell were popular teen shows. My favorite movie is and always will be Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. And may we not forget that people actually used pay phones back then. But we can’t deny the fact that as we creep into the 2010s, the 1980s slip farther and farther away. Looking back at pictures of loved ones and saying, “What were they thinking?!”, “Dad, your shorts were way too short” or “Bro…hammer pants??” Or when the lingo and slang seem ridiculously tame compared to our generation now. How about when the line “eat my shorts” gets Bender in trouble in The Breakfast Club? Or shall we compare Full House to the shows that are on the air now? However, 80s lovers and nostalgic adults, don’t fret. The 80s are coming back in many ways. Bright neon colors, yoga pants (spandex/bike shorts anyone?), new wave 80s music, remake of Nightmare on Elm Street (terrible, but they tried?), high wasted skirts and wedges. In fact, it seems that we like the 80s so much, that its culture wave seems to be coming back around. Even though as it may slowly slip away, the 80s will always stand as a bold and brandish decade. And may I stand as a symbol of hope: a young person who cherishes the past, sans the internet and cell phones perhaps, but valuing what may appear to be a more innocent and exciting time.
